Community & Events Manager (Code4CT)

Responsibilities

Career and life coaching

  • Work one on one with members to navigate key study and career choices

Plan, implement and report on events for current and prospective community members (workshops, hackathons, career events)

  • Manage invitations, RSVPs, attendance and ongoing communications for hosted events
  • Manage logistics of hosted events, taking the lead in setup and setdown of physical space
  • Collect, record and share attendee feedback on events and membership experience

Manage Code4CT’s internal communication channels

  • Schedule, draft, send and track regular community mailers with updates and opportunities
  • Utilise various communication channels to foster effective communication within the community

Drive community recruitment, maintaining and building member database

  • Connect with schools and organisations and conduct on-site presentations
  • Communicate the value of the Code4CT community to prospective members

Industry engagement

  • Communicate with industry speakers, mentors and supporters
  • Proactively find industry relevant events for community members to attend
  • Accompany community members at tech events, representing CodeSpace and embodying the brand, culture and values of the company

Project Management

  • Monitor and work within project budgets
  • Track and meet short-, medium- and long-term project targets
  • Use, maintain and improve process implementation documentation
  • Conduct after action reviews with team to continually improve processes
  • Understand and be able to explain the landscape in which Code4CT operates

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 1+ years relevant experience

Bonus: 

  • Coaching/ counselling qualification

Job Details

Full-time: 09:00-17:00

Location: 403 Old Castle Brewery; 6 Beach Road, Woodstock, Cape Town

Flexible work times and location possible
